CQC Registration for Dental Practices:
From 1st April 2011 all dental practices in England, both NHS and private, will be required to register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in order to continue to operate.
The process of registering practices began in the last quarter of 2010 with gathering of information from both the NHS and private sector about the locations and services provided by each practice.
You should be aware that this is a legal requirement and is in addition to any other registrations which you currently hold. Anyone providing dental treatment in England must be registered by the 1st April.
The process of registration begins with the submission of an application pack containing
details of the practice, all of its locations and details of all of the regulated
activities provided at each of those locations. Providers are also required to submit
details of the person who will hold the CQC registration (the Registered Persons
