Do I really need to register with the Care Quality Commission?

If you treat patients by any mode for the treatment of disease, disorder or injury and you are a healthcare professional or you are a healthcare professional supervising such treatments or if you have a healthcare professional as part of the team in your organisation then you are required to register with the CQC. If you provide private medical service, minor surgical or invasive cosmetic treatments or if you use local anaesthetics or sedation you are also required to register with the Care Quality Commission.

How do I go about making an application for registration?

You should begin the process of applying as soon as you possibly can after . The registration process can be quite lengthy and time consuming. You will need to assemble all of the information required on the application form and begin to put together the policies, protocols and develop your procedures.
